2016 in review: Hasanistan and the World

This year has probably been of the most eventful years in the last decade. From the year's decisive elections and referendums to Portugal shocking Europe to win Euro 2016, this year will certainly be one for the history books.
Hasanistan
Hasanistan has seen a radical change over the course this year. However, the first half of 2016 was relatively quiet in Hasanistan, with the four major political parties waiting for the upcoming elections. Hasanistan's radical changes would begin on August 9th with Hasan Çakar's victory over Tanju Çakar and the other two candidates of Hasanistan's presidential election to become Hasanistan's second democratically-elected president. Soon after his election, His Imperial Majesty Iskender IV, Imperator and Autocrat of Pavlov congratulated President Hasan on his victory and opened negotiations with Hasanistan to establish diplomatic ties with the Empire of Pavlov. These negotiations quickly transformed to negotiations over integration of Hasanistan into Pavlov. On August 11th, Hasanistan and Pavlov signed the Act of the Annexation of Hasanistan and Hasanistan was officially annexed by Pavlov. President Hasan aided in the establishment of a coalition government with Krishtof of Nov Asenovgrad on October 12th.
Since it annexation, Hasanistan had continued as a autonomous presidential republic. However, as the Hasani system complicated the relationship with the Pavlovian central government, President Hasan sought to change this. On October 14th, the Kurultay of Hasanistan voted on its final motion and passed the Shahdom Act of 2016. The Shahdom Act dissolved the Kurultay, the presidency and all other offices and crowned His Imperial Majesty Iskender IV as Shahanshah of Hasanistan and established the position of viceroy, who served as a regional representative in Pavlovian parliament and a regional governor. Ismetcan Byelo Tserkva was selected to serve as Hasanistan's viceroy.
On November 26th, Hasanistan annexed the region of Konraq, which was historically part of Viadalvia and more recently Dachenia, following the Treaty of Iskenderabat which handed control of the region over to His Imperial Majesty the Shahanshah. The same day, all political parties were outlawed in Pavlov, ending the last relics of the republican era in Hasanistan.
While 2016 was an eventful year for Hasani politics, both the Wallball League and the A Lig. (football tournament) were forced to be postponed due to the the inactivity of the now dissolved Hasanistan Ministry of Culture and Science.

Treaty of Iskenderabat signed, Dachenia cedes territroy to Hasanistan!

This afternoon, following negotiations between His Imperial Majesty Shahanshah of Hasanistan and Emperor of all-Pavlov Iskender IV, Baron Hasan Tradthar-i-falur and a representative of the Chiefdom of Dachenia, a treaty was signed between the Empire of Pavlov and the Chiefdom of Dachenia that settled a recent border dispute between the two nations. The treaty, titled the "Treaty of Iskenderabat" after Hasanistan's capital, saw the Chiefdom of Dachenia cede the territory of Kazakhizia, which is an enclave of Hasanistan, to the Empire of Pavlov. The Pavlovian government has put Kazakhizia under the administration of Hasanistan.

Kazakhizia has strong historical and cultural connections with Hasanistan. Kazakhizia borders Hasanistan's capital Iskenderabat and was established in 2013 as a Viadalvian colony known as Konraq after the Republic of Hasanistan allowed Viadalvia to claim an area bordering it. In 2014, when Hasanistan radically expanded its territorial claim, it allowed Konraq to continue to exist. In 2016, Viadalvia transferred Konraq to Dachenia, who renamed it Kazakhizia, and Hasanistan continued to allow its existance. However, following Hasanistan's annexation by Pavlov in August 2016, Kazakhizia's political status came into question as His Imperial Majesty Shahanshah of Hasanistan and Emperor of all-Pavlov Iskender IV began to pressure Dachenia into giving up Kazakhizia.

Following the signing of the treaty, Kazakhizia is expected to become a beglik of Hasanistan as promised in the treaty. This will make the new territory the smallest beglik of Hasanistan and the new beglik is planned to rechristened the "Beglik of Konraq-Kazakhizia". Although the cession of Kazakhizia will be immediate, Dachenia will be given at most three months to adjust to these changes. This includes time to remove any military presence from the region and registered Dachenian citizens of Kazakhizia being given the option of whether to keep Dachenian citizenship or being awarded Pavlovian citizenship.

The full text of the treaty can be read here

Idealist leadership election: Protest vote gets majority, Baron Tradthar-i-falur retakes chairmanship!

In a shock turn of events, neither candidate won the Idealist Party's controversial leadership election which pitted fascist agitator Sir Pavle Savovic KOSA against conservative libertarian Sir Shady Morsi KCS. The majority of the party's eleven eligible voters voted for a "none of the above" option, which was only included by the request of rejected candidate Tanju Çakar. The third option, which was seen as a protest vote by left-wing Idealist Party members against the two right-wing candidates, had nine votes (53% of the vote) which beat Sir Savovic KOSA's six votes and Sir Morsi KCS's two votes. The result gave neither of the candidates a mandate to take over the role as chairman and following a tense emergency meeting that contained all members of the party who held a seat in Pavlov's State Council, including Sir Savovic KOSA and Sir Morsi KCS, it was decided that Baron Hasan Tradthar-i-falur had to retain the position of chairman.
Sir Savovic KOSA protested against reinstating Baron Tradthar-i-falur, claiming that the protest vote was not a valid option and that he won because he had the majority. Sir Savovic KOSA also threatened to leave the party and create his own political party. However, he eventually decided to stay and both him and Sir Morsi KCS decided to give their full support to Baron Tradthar-i-falur and help him reunite the party following the ideological split between left-wing and right-wing elements within the party.
The election result itself will be a relief to the ruling coalition, which the Idealist Party is the lesser partner of. The result means that the party will be still led by a supporter of a coalition and will not be taken over by Sir Savovic KOSA, who's main campaign promise was leaving the coalition.
Baron Tradthar-i-falur has said that as well the main goals of the party now will be gathering more members and supporters and making new reforms. Baron Tradthar-i-falur has said that he will not ignore the demands of the supporters of Sir Savovic KOSA and Sir Morsi KCS and he will take a more moderate approach on economic policies and the party will become more nationalistic to appease the right-wing of the party. He has also said that the party will not expect another leadership election in the near future, however if one is too take place it will be much better organized than this one was.
We interviewed both candidates of the election to here their thoughs:

Interview with Sir Shady Morsi KCS

Q: Hello Sir Morsi KCS, commiserations on your defeat.
A: Hello.
Q: What do you think went wrong, why didn't you win?
A: I think that the people voted to oppose us both because we didn't tell them about our ideologies a lot and we didn't tell them about our plans.
Q: Will this result change your policies or political views in anyway?
A: No.
Q: What did you think of your rival during the election? Would you have supported him if he won?
A: He has a very bad reputation in the entire micronational world. Mahuset banned him and he only wants to have power but on the other hand he has some good ideas.
Q: What do you think about him labeling you an "establishment candidate"?
A: Ironically he is using establishment elements to have build on his campaign.
Q: If there was another leadership election to take place, would you run?
A: Yes.
Q: Thank you for you time, Sir Morsi KCS.

Interview with Sir Pavle Savovic KOSA

Q: Hello Sir Pavlov KOSA, commiserations on your defeat.
Q: What do you think went wrong, why didn't you win?
A: Well I think that the elections were not organised and if I could show my ideas to the people, I am sure I would win.
Q: Will this result change your policies or political views in anyway?
A: No, I won't allow this minor set back stop my goal of united and absolute Pavlov.
Q: What will you do now that you have lost? Will you continue to push for fascist reform?
A: I will continue to fight and push for fascist reforms and I know I have the support of party comrades.
Q: What did you think of your rival during the election? Would you have supported him if he won?
A: No. If he won I would have left the party. My opponent is just puppet of establishment.
Q: Do you blame establishment for your defeat?
A: No, I think it's the fault of election organizers because of the way that they poorly organized the election.
Q: Will you continue to oppose the Idealist Party being part of the coaltion led by the Right Party?
A: Yes because that is wrong and against our principles.
Q: If there was another leadership election to take place, would you run?
A: Yes.
Q: Thank you for you time, Sir Savovic KOSA.
A: No problem.

Idealist Party to hold controversial leadership elections!

Following a week of demands for reform from some members, the Idealist Party founder, chairman and current Pavlovian Minister of National Security and Internal Affair Baron Hasan Tradthar-i-falur has announced that a leadership election will take place to decide a new chairman of the party. Just a few minutes ago, Baron Hasan Tradthar-i-falur and the three other members of the party who hold a seat in the Pavlovian State Council held a short online meeting where they discussed the future of the party and what direction it should move in. Following the meeting, His Imperial Majesty the Emperor of all-Pavlov granted the party the permission to hold leadership elections. Baron Hasan Tradthar-i-falur announced that he would not be standing as a candidate in the upcoming vote, stating that he wanted to concentrate on other matters. Instead two new candidates decided to throw their hat into the ring, current foreign minister Sir Shady Hosam Morsi KCS and viceroy of Daljam Pavle Savovic. Sir Morsi KCS is a self-described conservative libertarian and has been praised for his work as the foreign minister, his opponent has described him as an "establishment candidate". Sir Morsi KCS's opponent is the controversial figure Pavle Savovic, a self-described fascist and the viceroy of the recently admitted state of Daljam, who wants the party to move to the right. Mr Savovic has a questionable past and has a strong opposition to the current ruling coalition, in which the Idealist Party is the lesser partner. There has been some concern over the lack of both a left-leaning candidate due to the socialist leanings of the party's supporting demographic and former chairman, however Baron Tradthar-i-falur has said that the party will ensure it does not abandon its supporters. The election will be held tomorrow and will end on the following day to allow all party members to vote.

Idealist Party first regional affiliate established in Hasanistan!

Following short negotiations between leader of the Nomad Party and Pavlovian Idealist Party Hasan Çakar and leader of the Hasanistan Independence Party Shady Morsi, who is also an Idealist Party member, the Idealist Party's first regional affiliate has been established. The two regional political parties have merged and have established the Idealist Party of Hasanistan, the first affiliate party established in Pavlov. As Hasanistan is no longer a parliamentary democracy and the regional parties have no official power, the Idealist Party of Hasanistan will serve as a local pressure group promoting the ideals of the Idealist Party and making Hasanistan an Idealist stronghold in case of any future elections. The Idealist Party has also stated that it wishes to pressure Viceroy Saraç into joining the party and pressure the other political parties into integration. Hasan Çakar could not lead the regional affiliate as he is the leader of the main party, so Shady Morsi has been appointed leader. Hasan Çakar has also said he wishes to open other regional affiliates in the other states of Pavlov.

Memrise course for Hasani set up!

With the support of the Pavlovian government, the regional government of Hasanistan has established a course on the online website Memrise for the Hasani language. The course is currently still under development and far from completion but will hopefully allow both Hasani citizens and foreigners to become fluent in the language. A government-supported organization known as the Hasani Culture Federation will manage the course as well as be given the task of preserving the Hasani language. You can currently take a quiz to test your knowledge on the language.

Hasani Shahdom passes Shahdom Act of 2016!

Following a weeks of reforms passed in the Kurultay, including one which would lead to its dissolution, all these reforms have been grouped into one government act known as Shahdom Act which will officially institute all these laws. These reforms were already official when they were passed, however it had been decided that on this day that all new reforms will be enforced. This act comes as the central Pavlovian government has formalized a new charter in Pavlov which has greatly reformed its political structure. The following reforms will be officially instituted:
  • Hasanistan becomes a semi-constitutional monarchy under the authority of Iskender IV, Shahanshah with the glory of Solomon of Hasanistan, Rum and the Steppe of the Turks. The Shahanshah will voluntarily not get involved in Hasanistan's political system except in times of need. Hasanistan's official name shall be the "Shahdom of Hasanistan" (or Hasanistan Şahliği in Hasani).
  • The positions of Beg and Premier dissolved, replaced by a representitive of His Imperial Majesty the Shahanshah known as the Viceroy. The viceroy will be selected by the Shahanshah and His Imperial Majesty has chosen new citizen İsmetcan Saraç as the current Viceroy.
  • The Kurultay, Hasanistan's tricameral legislature, has been dissolved and the Viceroy has been given all power over Hasanistan's law. The regional political parties of Hasanistan will be allowed to continue to exist as local pressure groups.
  • All primates (except North Hasanistan) have been granted far less autonomy under Hasani law. The primates have also been renamed to begliks and all the begliks have been given permission to rename themselves. The four begliks are now Iskenderabat Beglik (formerly Batyr Primate), Ardajan Beglik (formerly North Hasanistan Primate), Çobanistan Beglik (formerly South Hasanistan Primate) and <insert name> Beglik (formerly Saladin Islands Primate). Ardajan Beglik has been granted autonomous rule but will be represented in Pavlov by the Viceroy of Hasanistan.
There are currently some more laws involving Hasanistan which are currently under vote in the State Council of Pavlov so they were not included in the act, such as the establishment of a grand muftiate in Pavlov. All events are currently postponed, such as the Hasani A. Lig, to allow stability following the reforms and all information online regarding Hasanistan is too be updated.

Primates reformed, renamed to Begliks!

Following the dissolution of the Kurultay and the Prime Council, the future of the primates had been in question. Following a two day discussion between Viceroy Shady Morsi and Minister of Plenipotentiary Hasan Çakar, it has been decided the primates will be renamed to "begliks" and that the local governors will be renamed from "Prime" to "Beg". The three begliks are also being renamed: Batyr to Iskenderabat, North Hasanistan to Ardajan and South Hasanistan to Çobanistan. These changes have come as part of recent reforms to deal with an upcoming Pavlovian charter, they will be all officially established following the passing of the charter which will hopefully be this week.

All arms of the Kurultay dissolved, end of democracy in Hasanistan?

As of 00:00 tomorrow, all arms of Hasanistan's legislature "the Kurultay" (formerly known as the Supreme Council until recently) will be dissolved. Following the dissolution, all national descisions will be made by the Viceroy of Hasanistan (temporarily Shady Morsi), the Minister of Plenipotentiary (temporarily Hasan Çakar) and if requested His Imperial Majesty Shahanshah Iskender IV. This move is controversial as some citizens believe this will be the end of democracy in Hasanistan. Plans are in place to ensure democracy is not removed and that the people still have a say in Hasanistan's politics. However, following these recent weeks of reform, anything can happen.

Government faces heavy reforms following changes to appease Pavlovian government!

Following the radical changes made yesterday which saw Hasanistan become a constitutional monarchy under the rule of Iskender IV of Pavlov, the Hasani regional government and Hasan Çakar Beg have announced even more reforms to fit in with the reforms happening in Hasanistan's suzerain Pavlov. These will reforms will allow the Hasani government to adapt to the recent changes easier. The positions of Beg (former head of state, formerly known as President) and Premier (former head of government, formerly known as Supreme Leader) are being dissolved and to be replaced by different positions. The Hasani legislature will most likely continue to be tricameral, however there are discussions to dissolve the Prime Council and the Guild Council with are both very inactive. The Kurultay, which currently only has 4 seats, will get expanded. Hasanistan will have a state appointed Grand Mufti who will be granted a place as an observer in the Kurultay, although the future Grand Mufti will not be granted the privilege of voting on motions in respect of Hasanistan's secular nature. Iskender IV has voluntarily accepted the request by the Hasani government to not get involved in Hasani politics unless they request so, however has granted Hasan Çakar Beg the permission to do these reforms without Kurultay permission.
The following list is one of the most favored ideas for a new political structure (current positions that are retained are indicated in italics):
  • Shahanshah of Hasanistan - Iskender IV
    • Plenipotentiary Minister - Hasan Çakar
    • Kurultay
      • Viceroy of Hasanistan - TBD
      • Devlet Vizier (State Minister) - TBD
      • Savunma Vizier (Defense Minister) - Ulash Arda
      • Kültür ve Teknoloji Vizier (Culture and Technology Minister) - Kaab Millet
      • Grand Mufti of all Pavlov - Mohamet Ali (cannot vote, only observer)
    • Guild Council (dissolution possible)
      • Manufacturing Industry Representative - TBD
      • Agriculture Industry Representative - TBD
      • Service Industry Representative - TBD
    • Prime Council (dissolution possible)
      • Prime of Batyr - TBD
      • Prime of North Hasanistan - Shady Morsi
      • Prime of South Hasanistan - Hasan Çakar
      • Prime of Saladin Islands - Mohamet Ali

Hasanistan becomes a monarchy, Pavlovian emperor crowned Shahanshah!

It has been decided by the Kurultay of Hasanistan that Hasanistan will cease to be a republic for the foreseeable future and will adopt a constitutional monarchy to accommodate for upcoming political reforms in the Empire of Pavlov. The descision, which may seem controversial due to Hasanistan's historic socialist and republican leanings, was unopposed in the Kurultay's vote on the issue. The Emperor of Pavlov Alexander IV will take the role as Shahanshah and will go by the name Iskender in a sign of respect to Hasani culture. On possible questions on whether Hasanistan's democracy is in danger, Hasan Çakar Beg has gave the following statement:
"Hasanistan's democracy is not in danger! We have decided to make these reforms to be able to allow the Pavlovian government to make important political reforms that will ensure its stability. I am no monarchist, however we must accept this reform as it will continue the Emperor's support for the dependency. Ever since we have become a Pavlovian dependency, the Pavlovian government and His Imperial Majesty Shahanshah Iskender IV have respected Hasanistan's democracy. His Imperial Majesty has voluntarily decided he will not get involved in Hasanistan's governance except in times of emergency. Hasanistan will continue to have democratic elections and nothing will change except we will take on Pavlov's emperor as our monarch."
Hasan Çakar Beg has also announced that his own position will most likely be dissolved in the coming days and the Premier of Hasanistan will gain more powers. Hasanistan will also be changing its official name to the "Shahdom of Hasanistan and Rum" as well as a renaming of the capital Batyr to Iskenderabat in honour of the new Shah.

Idealist Party Manifesto 2016

The Idealist Party of Pavlov was formed to revive Pavlov's hidden Turkic cultural heritage as well as defend Pavlov from the evils of cultural Marxism (known by its supporters as "progressivism"). The Idealist Party wants to take Pavlov from the silver age and take it into a permanent golden age. Voting for the Idealist Party will be a vote for true progress and the preservation of ALL Pavlovian culture.

Economic policy

The Idealist Party is against the evils of corporatism and its exploitation of the people of Pavlov and the rest of the world. The Idealist Party believes that corporatism is anti-Christian, anti-Pavlovian and immoral. The Idealist Party wants to expose how corporatism and its supporters take advantage of and even support social degeneracy promoted by cultural marxism. The Idealist Party believes that private companies should not hold influence over His Majesty The Emperor's government. This is a betrayal of the emperor and a betrayal of the people. The Idealist Party believes that the economy should be in the hands of the Pavlovian people and the Pavlovian state. The Idealist Party is against private ownership of Pavlovian land, all land only belongs to His Majesty The Emperor Alexander IV, ruler of Tatarorum.

Social policy

The Idealist Party believes Pavlov should embrace its Turkic heritage. Pavlov has for so long repressed its Turkic heritage. The emperor himself is descended from the khans of Kazan and so should not be forced to repress his heritage too please the Slavic majority. This does not mean Pavlov abandon its Slavic and Roman heritage, it means that the Turkic influence rightfully be equal to Slavic and Roman influences. The repression of Turkic influence on Pavlovian culture is nothing more than an attempt at ethnic cleansing by the Slav. The imperial states of Hasanistan, Köktugluk and Kökqoyunlu and even the imperial seat of Kolchaksaray all have Turkic cultural origins, to repress their heritage is a cultural coup by the Slav. The Turkic heritage is repressed due to its alleged ties to Islamic culture, however this is a lie spread by those who wish to repress the Turkic heritage of Pavlov. There have been various Turkic nations who followed the Christian faith; the Cuman khans, the Bulgar khans, the Qasim khans. This heritage must be respected. As well as the end of cultural repression, the Idealist Party will fight against the modern scourge of cultural Marxism ("progressivism"). Pavlov must protect its culture from attempts from so-called "progressives" to normalize social degeneracy. Pavlov must learn from the mistakes by modern Western nations and preserve the important social structure that had historically ensured the prosperity of those now-dying Western nations. The preservation of the Pavlovian family unit, the Pavlovian faith in God and the Pavlovian monarchy is important, else Pavlov will decline. The Idealist Party supports inter-ethnic and inter-faith dialouge between Pavlov's various peoples. The Idealist Party also supports religious freedoms of the Muslims of Hasanistan established in the Act of the Annexation of Hasanistan (2016) and believes that the rights of the indigenous minorities of Pavlov should be protected.

Diplomatic policy

The Idealist Party believes that Pavlov's current foreign policy is highly successful and should be continued. Pavlov's membership in the Antarctic Micronational Union must be preserved and Pavlov must continue to reject the Antarctic Treaty. Pavlov must open dialogue with the wider world, to legitimize the emperor's rule and secure Pavlov's independence.

The party's formation was given Emperor Alexander IV's blessing yesterday, however was decided to be announced today. The Idealist Party is currently in the process of writing its election manifesto and gaining more support in Pavlov. The Idealist Party will hopes to get most of its votes in Hasanistan, Hasan Çakar Beg's home state. In the second Kurultay meeting since Hasan Çakar Beg's election, Premier Shady Morsi proposed a controversial motion of turning Hasanistan into a semi constitutional monarchy. The motion was rejected two votes to one.
  • Shady Morsi's proposal: I propose that Hasanistan become a khanate (a semi constitutional monarchy, still part of Pavlov), abolish the parties and most importantly abolish the corrupt republic. A republic is against tradition and a khanate is unique.

Emperor and Autocrat of all-Pavlov, which has made Hasanistan become a dependency of the Empire of Pavlov. Feneriye - the world superpower!!!

Proposed flag of Feneriye
Nomad Party presidential candidate Hasan Çakar has said that if he becomes president of Hasanistan that he will work to create a proposed union, known as Feneriye. The union, who's name is inspired by a football team, will be a political union between Hasanistan and an extremely close ally, MurhammedLand, with a similar structure to other political unions. Hasan has said the goal will further legitimize the Hasani push for independence as well as further strengthen Hasanistan's current influence on other separatist movements. Hasan has said the union would have a common president, common parliament, a common foreign policy and a common goal and would benefit both nations. Hasan said he was inspired to form the union after reading about Eurasianism and Russia's proposed Eurasian Union. Whether this dream will become a reality will  depend on the result of the upcoming presidential election.

The Al-Jarid primate has also changed its name to Saladin Islands (Selahaddin Adalar in Hasani) primate stating that the name "Al-Jarid" has no meaning.
