Mejlis approves voting rights for Mahusetan, Brennonian and Cormacian residents

The Mejlis approved the Special Registered Resident Voting Rights Act 2020, proposed by Hasan Çakar, extending voting rights in elections to Mahusetan, Brennonian and Cormacian citizens who hold permanent residency within Hasanistan. The vote on the motion began two days ago and was concluded this morning. The bill was approved by three votes in support, one in opposition, no abstentions and one absent voter.
The new law gives permanent residents within Hasanistan of those nations the right to vote in all national and local elections, as well as non-binding referenda. However, it excludes them from voting in constitutional and binding referendums as well as being candidates in elections due to those being exclusive rights of Hasanistani citizens. It is believed this law will help promote immigration to Hasanistan to increase its population. Residents will be able to vote in the upcoming November elections.
The law was opposed by deputy Natsuki Hegro of the Feudalist Party. A clash happened between him and the Prime Minister after he issued a statement during voting saying "Nothing personal, just that I'm of the opinion that people should have to minimally commit with citizenship before they can [sic] wote". Prime Minister and deputy Hasan Çakar replied to Hegro's comments by saying "I just want to condemn Mr. Hegro's anti-immigrant sentiments. Hasanistan is a diverse, multicultural society, and diversity and tolerance are our strength. There is no room for this Trump-style race-baiting in Hasanistan. Mr. Hegro should be ashamed of himself for promoting his racist ideas in our world-renowned legislature. Maybe he should return to his incel forums where such values are common".
There have also been concerns this new law has been specifically designed to bring increased support in the upcoming election for certain candidates and parties, especially the People's Unity Party. However, Prime Minister Çakar has dismissed such claims and claimed the real purpose of the law is "progressivism".
The full law may be read here.

Hasanistani Turanic Society established; commissioned to research new script

The Naib-i-Şehinşah Hasan Çakar has announced the formation of an officially non-governmental organisation to promote pan-Turanism, the self-described 'exceptional quality' of the Turanian peoples and oppose "Indo-European [Aryan] chauvinism" within Hasanistan. Çakar has announced he will chair the group, promote pro-Turan ideologies (such as Islam, anime, Juche, Sultan-Galiyevism and Kemalism) and that it aims to inspire other groups in Turanic countries for the eventual goal of a Turan super-state spreading from the Sami regions of Scandinavia to Alaska and from as north as Yakutia to as south as Hijaz in Saudi Arabia.
Turanism is an ideology based on the belief of forming closer political integrated of the Ural-Altaic peoples, a controversial grouping that states that Turkic, Mongolic, Tungusic, Korean, Japonic and Finno-Ugric ethnicity share a common ancestry and language family. The theory has been scrutinised but is based on unique similarities between their respective languages and a common area of purported origin within north-eastern Siberia. Çakar has also included Mahusetans (excluding Radonics) in the Turanic family, calling them "honourary Turanians to the highest degree", but excluded South Koreans and Ryukyuans as 'uncle toms'. He has also harshly criticised Indo-Europeans, saying "compare Japan, Turkey, North Korea, Estonia and Hungary against 'Aryan' states like India, Afghanistan, Ukraine or Sweden, the latter are all failed states".
The Hasanistani Turanic Society has already been commissioned by the Hasani government into researching a new script based on the Japonic alphabet to promote a greater pan-Turanian identity within Hasanistan and it has been believed the decision to ban mocking anime was a move towards Turkish-style censorship laws banning insulting certain cultural topics regarded as integral to culture. Although pan-Turkic and mild Turanist sentiments have always existed in Hasanistan, the move towards a more radical Turanism further advanced by the formation of this Society has alarmed some as growing Hasanistani ultra-nationalism and totalitarian tendencies.
