Brennonia establishes sports tribunal body

Published in partnership with the Kingdom of Brennonia and the Hardy-Çakar Press Association.

On 30 July 2026, His Majesty King Chase of Brennonia issued a royal act to establish the Supreme Arbitration Tribunal for Sports. The tribunal will have the power to settle disputes involving sports occurring in or operating under Brennonian jurisdiction.

The Tribunal shall be headed by a Chief Arbiter, appointed by the King. Each case under the Tribunal's oversight shall be overseen by an independent and impartial Arbiter.

The Supreme Arbitration Tribunal for Sports has likely been established to oversee the ongoing arbitration case between the Independent Team and 2026 MicroWorld Cup organiser Hasan Çakar over the result of the Independent Team's playoff round game with Minaki. As the game was hosted by Brennonia, the Brennonian government decided to preside over the dispute. Emiel van der Huijsen is currently serving as the Brennonian government's Arbiter of the case.

The Independent Team v Hasan Çakar arbitration case is notably the first legal (or quasi-legal) case to be held in Brennonia.
