Yesterday, Brennonia advanced to the final of the Slopfest 2026 Intermicronational Haxball World Cup after a 7–2 victory over Tymbarc in their semi-final.
The beginning of the game was an inverse of the final result, as Tymbarc took an early lead at the nineteenth second with a long-distance strike and doubled it to 2–0 at the game's thirthy-seventh second. These goals ended Brennonia's clean sheet streak that it had maintained throughout the group stage and the quarter-final. However, Tymbarc's lead was soon to be challenged as Brennonia scored at 0.48'. Brennonia soon after equalised at the turn of the game's first minute.
Following their recovery, Brennonia came to dominate the game. Tymbarc failed to make any decent chances for the rest of the game, often being forced to the sides of the pitch, and the team's defence crumbled in the face of Brennonia's attacks and counter-attacks. By the game's second minute, Brennonia had scored three goals to make the game 5–2. Two more goals around the match's last thirty seconds secured Brennonia a comfortable victory, despite the poor start.
Brennonia's performance will provide them confidence for the coming final, having dominated every game they have played so far in the tournament. The match was of special importance to the co-host, as the final game to be hosted in Brennonia and its capital Brennongrad. Brennonia's player Chase Mahoning has also now caught up to Nesea's Filip in the golden boot race, as both are now on thirty-three goals each.
Despite the defeat, Tymbarc will play one more time in the match for third place. As the other side of the bracket has yet to play, Brennonia and Tymbarc must now wait for their final opponents.
