2026 MicroWorld Cup: Parasolia finish third-placed

Parasolia has secured a third place finish in the 2026 Intermicronational Haxball World Cup, after an impressive 10-2 victory over Tymbarc in the consolation match between the two defeated semi-finalists. Played at the late night of 4 September and virtually hosted by Mamucium, Mahuset, the match saw a strong and determined Parasolia dominate a Tymbarc who struggled to pose a challenge.

The match was opened by a Tymbarc goal at the fourth second, followed by a Parasolian equaliser four seconds later. For the first thirty seconds, it appeared to be heading for a close battle between two equal teams. However, a Tymbarc own goal at the thirtieth second marked the beginning of their decline. A minute later, Parasolia had taken a four goal lead. Tymbarc scored their final goal of the match and ultimately the tournament at 01:53' but any hopes of a dramatic comeback was squashed a few seconds later as the Parasolians responded. Parasolia scored four more goals as they steamrolled over Tymbarc's defence, coasting to bronze.

Parasolia's third-place finish and their overall performance in the tournament knockout stage has come as a shock to many of the MicroWorld Cup's fans, earning them the reputation of the tournament's "dark horse". Their tournament journey began with an mixed group stage performance, having lost to Hasanistan 3-0 and beat New Oplaya 4-1. Finishing second, Parasolia advanced from their playoff by default as opponent Ludzervik were disqualified for inactivity and little expectations were placed on them to progress further. However, Parasolia truly made their mark in the tournament as they edged past Hasanistan in exciting quarter-final rematch. They then proceeded to prove a difficult challenge to current-top scorer and finalist Nesea, who only managed to defeat them by a single goal.

Despite the defeat for Tymbarc, the defeated party still has much to be proud about in regards to their Cup performance. Surviving what was regarded as the "group of death" early in the tournament and achieving an impressive quarter-final victory over Mahuset, Tymbarc were a deserving semi-finalist.

A full video replay of the match for third place, produced and broadcast by the Hasanistan Today and Tomorrow Network, can be viewed here.

Only one game remains of the Slopfest 2026 Intermicronational Haxball World Cup, the highly-anticipated final between Nesea and Brennonia. The game is expected to be played this weekend.

Hasanistan reaches quarter-finals of 2026 Micronational Checkers Tournament

The Micronational Olympic Federation's 2026 Checkers Tournament recently concluded, with Hasanistan's sole participant reaching its knockout stage. The tournament, hosted by Slitronia and a part of the MOF's series of single-sport events, had been held over the past month.

Hasanistan's "cylete" Hasan Çakar began his tournament drawn into Group C, alongside Legion M (Democratic Republic of Eg), Despi Zografou (Hyacinthia) and Chrzan (Minaki). Çakar started with a victory over Legion by two games to none. The following 2-0 defeat to Chrzan meant Çakar's place in the tournament was dependent on his final game. After a close game, Çakar triumphed over Hyacinthian opponent by two games to one. Çakar finished top of his group, helped by his early victory over second-placed Legion being group ranking's tie-breaker.

In the quarter-final held on  24 August, Çakar faced Group B runner-up Wolfomir of the Participatory Republic of Dibistan. Çakar was unable to continue his success during the group stage after losing by two games to none.

The Checkers Tournament was won by Miroslavia's Miroslav I, who beat Dylan Callahan of Karnia-Ruthenia 2-1. Çakar's knockout stage opponent Wolfomir earned the bronze medal after a 2-1 win over the host country's hopeful Johannes I.

Hasan Çakar is expected to represent Hasanistan in another upcoming MOF event, which will be the inaugural Chess Tournament hosted by Mendersia.
