Hasanistan sends condolences to Chad over death of President

Hasanistani President Hasan Çakar has sent his condolences to the Chadian government following reports of the assassination of long-time President Idriss Déby. According to the BBC, the strongman who has ruled since the 1990s was killed commanding government forces against a northern rebel group known as the "Front for Change and Concord in Chad" (FACT). Hasanistan has maintained its full neutrality in this civil conflict, abiding by its general policy of state neutrality, but issued calls for a peaceful settlement. The President has offered himself as a negotiator.

The full statement by the President reads:

"We send our condolence for the toppling of the Chad President. He was controversial, but he must have been a good man to rule the Chads. We hope that peace can come to Chads as quickly as possible. I can negotiate peace in Chad if all sides wish."

President declares Donald Trump persona non grata

President Hasan Çakar has announced that Donald Trump is persona non grata, barring him from entry into Hasanistan. He has also been banned from engaging in any form of financial transactions with individuals in Hasanistan following the additional placing of economic sanctions, effectively preventing his business empire "the Trump Organization" from operating within the country.

The following reasons have been given for the ban on the former President of the United States: his ordering of the assassination of Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, his decision in 2017 to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel (which is regarded as an illegally-occupied part of Palestine), his involvement in blockading Yemen and his support for conspiracy theories regarding coronavirus.

Despite this, President Çakar stated that this was not an endorsement of his successor and former electoral opponent Joseph Biden: "This is not an endorsement of American President Biden, but we will not pursue sanctions against the current American leader in case Hasanistan is granted international recognition and we would be required to interact with them".
