Hasanistan participates in the 2025 MOF Intergames; wins bronze

The 2025 MOF Intergames, virtually hosted by the Empire of Austenasia and organised by the Micronational Olympic Federation, have come to a close this week. This year's edition was Hasanistan's second participation in a MOF event and first in the Intergames. The Intergames serve as a smaller-scale "off-season" event, in contrast to the Intermicronational eSports Games.

Hasanistan only had one "cylete" participating in the event, Hasan Çakar, who competed in five events. The five events were chess, checkers, mancala, tic-tac-toe and rock-paper-scissors . Hasanistan competed in every competitive ranked event, although did not participate in the unranked and exhibition events.

In summary of the cylete's performance in each event:

  • Lost to Sertor Valentinus (Austenasia) in the Round of 16 in the checkers (draughts) event.
  • Lost to Onyx Blackhawk (Nenggog) in the Round of 32 in the chess event. The game was close and regarded as a comeback for Blackhawk, as Çakar had the upperhand until a mistake led to the loss of his queen piece and the tide turning in the Nenggogian's favour.
  • Advanced by default in the quarter-finals of the mancala event, after the disqualification of Remy Kimpton (Wallisy). Lost to Zabelle Skye-Greys in the semi-final, by a score of 35-13. Won against Sertor Valentinus (Austenasia) in the third place match, winning by a score of 25-23 in a knife-edge match. Won the bronze medal for the event.
  • Lost to Jasmine (Gunaka) in the Round of 32 in the noughts and crosses event, by a score of 2 games to 1.
  • Advanced by default in the Round of 32 of rock-paper-scissors events, after the disqualification of Joshua Andou (Tymbarc) for inactivity. Lost in the Round of 16 to Julian Szembek-Michelloti (Tymbarc) in a close match, by a score of 3 rounds to 2.

Having won a bronze medal, Hasanistan placed joint sixth in the medal table (with Versmark, which also won one bronze medal). Hasanisan's medal means that Hasanistan has won a medal at every appearance at a MOF multi-sport event so far, having previously won gold at its debut in the 2025 eGames. Although Hasanistan's one bronze medal was below the pre-event expectation for three medals, the Hasanistani delegation believes its success at the event shows the country's development into a "athletic superpower".

Hasanistan's "cylete" and the head of the national sports delegation to the Intergames Hasan Çakar thanked Austenasia for hosting the event and congratulated all fellow medallists and participants.
