Idealist Party to hold controversial leadership elections!

Following a week of demands for reform from some members, the Idealist Party founder, chairman and current Pavlovian Minister of National Security and Internal Affair Baron Hasan Tradthar-i-falur has announced that a leadership election will take place to decide a new chairman of the party. Just a few minutes ago, Baron Hasan Tradthar-i-falur and the three other members of the party who hold a seat in the Pavlovian State Council held a short online meeting where they discussed the future of the party and what direction it should move in. Following the meeting, His Imperial Majesty the Emperor of all-Pavlov granted the party the permission to hold leadership elections. Baron Hasan Tradthar-i-falur announced that he would not be standing as a candidate in the upcoming vote, stating that he wanted to concentrate on other matters. Instead two new candidates decided to throw their hat into the ring, current foreign minister Sir Shady Hosam Morsi KCS and viceroy of Daljam Pavle Savovic. Sir Morsi KCS is a self-described conservative libertarian and has been praised for his work as the foreign minister, his opponent has described him as an "establishment candidate". Sir Morsi KCS's opponent is the controversial figure Pavle Savovic, a self-described fascist and the viceroy of the recently admitted state of Daljam, who wants the party to move to the right. Mr Savovic has a questionable past and has a strong opposition to the current ruling coalition, in which the Idealist Party is the lesser partner. There has been some concern over the lack of both a left-leaning candidate due to the socialist leanings of the party's supporting demographic and former chairman, however Baron Tradthar-i-falur has said that the party will ensure it does not abandon its supporters. The election will be held tomorrow and will end on the following day to allow all party members to vote.
