President states elections to be held in 2020; first legislative elections planned

President Hasan Çakar has stated that elections shall be held in early 2020, either in the months of February or March. Çakar's term is due to conclude in 2020, after his previous unanimous election in 2018, and elections would have most likely been held in this year but the proposed months seem earlier than expected.
President Çakar said that in addition to the presidential elections, legislative elections shall be held for a unified sitting of Congress. This shall be a first in Hasanistan's legislative election in its almost-decade old history, as it has only held presidential elections and one local election before. Previous discussions have been had been held regarding holding them in the past but never came to frutition, although Çakar stated "This time we are truly determined to hold them." He also said regarding current electoral law: "This is not suited for Hasanistan's needs, I shall change it and since the past electoral law was made by decree than it shall be easy to change."
A formal decision regarding elections are expected by the end of next week.
