Currency referendum to be held on 11 June; second question choices established and President releases his endorsements

President Hasan Çakar has announced that the postponed currency referendum will be held on 11 June, following the initial rescheduling from 10 April to an indefinite date in the summer. Çakar has stated regarding the postponements of the referendum, which was one of his electoral promises in his November 2020 presidential campaign, that it was necessary due to then busy schedule of the Hasani government and officials who were dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The choices of the second questions regarding the name of a future currency have also been established, although the originally planned procedure of them being approved by the National Parliament (established by the decree which declared the referendum) did not occur due to the inactivity that Hasanistan had faced at the time. The five choices were instead made by the President's decision from popular recommendations. The choices will be: Hasani, Som, Lira, Manat or Dollar.

President Çakar also issued his personal endorsements for the referendum: supporting a unique National Currency for the first question, the name "Manat" in the second question, a labour-based currency in the third question, a virtual currency in the fourth question and a vote against local currencies in the fifth question in preference of a unified national currency. While he has made these endorsements, his party at large has declared its neutrality on all questions except for the fifth one in which it will support a "No" vote.

Çakar has additionally re-iterated he will implement whatever is voted on and has expressed interest in having a unique, independent office to oversee its implementation.
