Hasanistan calls for peace and condemns Israeli aggression in recent Jerusalem clashes

President Hasan Çakar has issued a statement on behalf of the Hasanistani government, calling for the end of hostilities in the West Bank, withdrawal of illegal Israeli settlers and the return to the peace process as defined in past agreements. Clashes have re-escalated in Jerusalem recently following protests over the expulsion of local Palestinians in the district of Sheikh Jarrah by Zionist settlers (often radical Judeo-theocratic fundamentalists), which has also led to attacks on the al-Aqsa Mosque and skirmishes in the Gaza Strip between Israeli forces and political party Hamas.

While reiterating Hasanistan's general neutrality and a desire for peace based upon the 1967 borders, President Çakar has also stated that the targeting of al-Aqsa (which is respected by Hasanistan's Muslim-plurality) and past record of illegal actions show Israel acts as a 'rogue state' and has threatened to revoke recognition of the UN member and implement sanctions if Israel escalates the situation further.

The full statement reads as follows:

"The clashes in Jerusalem are very disturbing and the actions of illegal Israeli settlers are disgusting. Hasanistan calls for an immediate end of this situation, including the ending of violence, withdrawal of illegal settlers, return of expelled locals and return to peace negotiations. We are especially troubled by violent actions by Israeli police on al-Aqsa Mosque on peaceful worshippers.

Hasanistan seeks peace and we understand the fact that since the 1948 war, regardless of its legality then and ethnic cleansing that took place, a Jewish statelet exists in the area around Tel Aviv. This is why it believes the most suitable solution is peaceful co-existence between an Israeli and Palestinian Arab state based on the so-called '1967 borders' where all ethno-religious communities can have their rights protected. However, since then Israel has continued to pursue expansionist and hostile policies with the Palestinians and its other neighbours. Israeli agents have also engaged in subversive activities in other areas of the world such as Europe and the Israeli intelligence agencies have reportedly supported terror groups. Israel also threatens the entire world with nuclear apocalypse through its illegal nuclear weapons program and its reckless Samson Option policy. The current events are just part of a pattern, Israel continuously violates international law. Israel is acting like a rogue state, with the full support of the US and other Western states.

The current settlement programs are genocidal, perpetrated by radical Talmudists who take a literal interpretation of the statements of certain rabbis. If Jews from Israel which to live in the West Bank, they must migrate there in-line with Palestinian immigration laws. Instead, these settlers are effectively an unofficial invasion force supported by the Israeli state where they remove locals by force and appropriate their properties. One would think that Israelis, many of whom fled from Europe and other parts of the Middle East to escape similar actions in the first place, would not commit such crimes.

Hasanistan is neutral and does not seek to involve itself in conflicts where it or its interests are at threat. However, Israel is not just a rogue state but through its violations of international law and its Sampson Option cannot be seen as anything other than a hostile state to Hasanistan. Our red lines will be further significant forced evictions, deliberate attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque or any other religious place of worship or an invasion of Gaza. If Israel performs any of these, Hasanistan will suspend all ties with Israel and place sanctions and bans on Israeli areas of interest.

Finally, Hasanistan wishes that all innocents are not targeted by violence."
