A major debate been started by the new Hasanistan Independence Party (HSIP), the Independence Party wishes Hasanistan to have an independent currency as currently the Kazakh Tenge is the official currency. The HSIP says the use of the Tenge makes Hasanistan dependent on the Kazakh economy. The other separatist party, the Hasanistan Secessionist Party, is currently neutral on the issue and the other two parties have made no statement about the debate. The currency is planned to be called either the Som or the Hasani.
