Provisional President decress establishment of national public broadcaster

Today, the Provisional President of the Republic Hasan Çakar has decreed the establishment of a national public broadcaster. The decision has also been made for the broadcaster to apply for membership into the Micronational Broadcasting Union.
The public broadcaster, known officially as the Hasanistan Radio and Television Organization or by its Hasani acronym of HRTT, is the second public broadcaster in the history of Hasanistan, with its predecessor being Hasanistan Live TV. The Hasanistan Radio and Television Organization will also apply for membership in the Micronational Broadcasting Union to seek co-operation with other micronational broadcasters.

Presidential election postponed

The Hasani government has postponed the presidential elections that were meant to be held on February 3rd. The decision was made Provisional President Hasan Çakar, who gave the following statement in regards to the postponement of the election:

"The election must be postponed because of the lack of candidates in the election. This lack of candidates is because there was no good preparation for the election. I fully blame myself for this failure, however do not worry citizens as an election will still be held this year. The election will be held nearer to the summer.

Hasanistan re-establishes bilateral ties with Mouzilo

Yesterday evening, Basileus of Mouzilo Emmanouil Tsompangolou ratified a treaty that established mutual recognition and bilateral relations between the recently re-established Mouzilo and Hasanistan.
Mouzilo is one of the oldest nations with which Hasanistan has held contact with, dating back to 2012. The early Hasani-Mouzeliot relationship was notorious for occasional periods of hostility, with the first contact between the two nations being such a crises. Despite this, while some tense still occurred, Hasanistan and Mouzilo grew to develop a stronger relationship and co-operated many times. The two nations were in confederation together in 2013, known as the Union of Hasanistan and Mouzilo, which later attempted to become a federal state known as Kekropia. Mouzilo has also maintained a small territory near Batyr known as Virgo, although its current status is ambiguous as Mahuset also claims the territory. In 2014, Mouzilo joined the Ashukov Federation with Akharnes, Montania and some other states.
On 26 December 2017, Mouzilo unilaterally seceded from Ashukovo. The Ashukov Vice-President Edward Jacobs reacted to the declaration of independence on Twitter on 29 December with the following statement:

"Mad Manolis declared Mouzilo’s “independence” without a federal constitutional amendment - totally illegal. I urge President Huff to take action and protect the constitution of Ashukovo!"

Despite the war of words, it seems that the Ashukovs have no intention of truly opposing the Mouzeliot secession. The secession of Mouzilo also leaves the question of Ashukovo's future open, as Mouzilo was Ashukovo's most active state. There is a possibility that this may lead to the dissolution of the Ashukov Federation.
Hasan Çakar has stated that he is glad that Mouzilo has re-established their old friendship with Hasanistan and that he hopes the two countries can co-operate on many projects in the future. He has also said that he hopes not to make the mistakes of Hasanistan's early days, in reference to this diplomatic crises between the two countries.

Nomad Party re-established; rebranded as the People's Unity Party

Today, Hasani Çakar (current Provisional President and leader of the Nomad Party) announced the official reformation under the new name of the People's Unity Party of Hasanistan. Çakar says that the old name "was a relic" and that the new name will refurbish the party.
The party was formed in 2013, under the name of the Hasanistan Secessionist Party, where it briefly served as the party's ruling party during the one-party era until June 2013. The party renamed itself to the Nomad Party in 2014.
Çakar said that the rebranding was only for the name and logo of the party and that the party will stay committed to its roots. He has also said that there will be possible structural reform to the party, with the establishment of a central executive committee and a new role for the leadership of the party.

Çakar has confirmed he will remain unaffiliated with any political party until the election. It is not known if the People's Unity Party will run in the upcoming presidential election, as there are reports of an interest with an electoral alliance with either the Progressive Party or the Bogdanoff Orbital Government.

Hasanistan and Occitania sign Treaty of Mutual Recognition

President of Occitania Babou Chakya signed the Treaty of Mutual Recognition and the Establishment of Bilateral Relations between Hasanistan and Occitania today, officially establishing diplomatic relations between the two nations and establishing the mutual recognition of each other. The treaty, drafted by Provisional President Hasan Çakar, was first sent to the Occitania on 4 November, although the formal signing of the treaty on the Occitanian side was postponed due to the general elections in Occitania which were held days earlier.
Despite the relationship between the two nations being formally established recently, Occitania and Hasanistan have been engaging in good relations with each other since earlier this year. Occitania was the first nation to condemn Hasanistan's coup attempt earlier this year. Hasanistan contacted Occitania on 2 November in regard to enquiring about the signing of a treaty.
Provisional President Çakar has privately congratulated Chakya on his electoral victory in the recent Occitanian general elections and stated that he wishes to co-operate with Occitania more following the signing of the treaty, with the possibility of Hasanistan joining the Occitanian-led Micronational Broadcasting Union.
