2026 Haxball MicroWorld Cup begins

The Slopfest 2026 Intermicronational Haxball World Cup, also known as the 2026 MicroWorld Cup, has begun today. Co-hosted by a trio of Brennonia, Hasanistan and Yotamistan, the tournament will feature 20 teams who will begin their journey in the group stage. All teams are hoping to eventually reach the final and triumph as the intermicronational champion.

MicroWorld Cup group stages and current standings

There are five groups in the initial stage, with one being hosted in Hasanistan, two in Brennonia and two in Yotamistan. The winner of each group will advance to the quarter-finals. The best-ranked second place team will also advance immediately, while the other four group runner-ups will face off in a playoff round.

One game has already been held soon after the tournament began, a tense 6-4 victory by Stanland over Tymbarc in Group B. The victory has set up Stanland for an early lead in their group and will give them confidence to go far, although Tymbarc demonstrated a strong opposition to show they have potential despite the defeat. A replay of the game has been published by Stanland's official YouTube channel, which can be viewed here.

Hasanistan will be in Group A, alongside Gora Mina, Parasolia and New Oplaya. Games in this group will virtually held in the capital Batyr and Çobanistan's Karamankaş. Tournament organiser and Hasanistan's player Hasan Çakar has said that their is a "lot of hope and expectation" for Hasanistan, but it is going into its group games knowing it will be facing "challenging opponents who want to prove their worth".
