Naib-i-Şehinşah statement on Galwan Valley incident and Kaesong explosion

Naib-i-Şehinşah Hasan Çakar has issued statements on two current global issues of relevance. The first matter is regarding border clashes between Indian and Chinese forces in Galwan Valley, Ladakh in which three Indian soldiers and an alleged unknown amount Chinese soldiers were killed. The second matter is the destruction of the Inter-Korean Liaison Office in Kaesong by allegedly North Korean fire in retaliation for recent tensions regarding defectors sending leaflets into the country from South Korea, leading to mobilisation of South Korean forces along the border and the country's alert level being risen.

The statement read:

"The news of incidents in the Korean border region and Ladakh area are very troubling. We call on both sides in these respective incidents, whether North Korea and South Korea or China and India, to try settle the issue diplomatically."

Batyr Chess Invitational begins

Today marks the beginning of the Batyr Chess Invitational, an international online-based chess tournament to be hosted and organised by the Hasani capital Batyr. The event, the first sporting competition of Hasanistan held since 2014, will be held on the chess service website "Chess.com". The event has been started to increase cultural activities with Hasanistan's allies and promote the city of Batyr.

The invitational will be within a knockout format. The competition has 6 competitors: Hasan Çakar (Hasanistan), Tablekitten (Blepia), Natsuki Hegro (Japan), Emiel Hardy (Mahuset), Nino (Altenbürg) and Chase Mahoning (Brennonia). The first round begins with Çakar facing Mahoning, Tablekitten facing Hardy and Hegro facing Nino. However, due to the irregularly number of competitors for a knockout tournament, one of the losing competitors in the first round will be given a second chance as a wild card. At the end of the tournament, a final and a third-place playoff will be held.

The Hasanistani government has high hopes for this tournament, hoping it will gather more interest in the nation and help revive the nation's athletic culture to its former glory. It has hinted that the tournament may become an annual event if this year's iteration is successful.

11 June 2020 election poll results

The results of the third election poll for the upcoming November 2020 general election poll have been released. The poll shows the current trend of the Feudalist Party continuing to lead, followed by the People's Unity Party and the Pirate Party. The Moralist Party and Democratic Party of Ardajan received 0% support in this poll, alongside the Progressive Party. However, the poll has a significantly lower sample size than the previous two with only four citizens polled.

Statement by Naib-i-Şehinşah regarding "George Floyd protests" in America

Since 26 May 2020, America has faced a series of protests and unrest instigated by the death of George Floyd following a case of police brutality by police officer Derek Chauvin. The protests began in Minneapolis, but have since spread to most major urban centres in America and supportive demonstrations in other cities around the world. According to latest figures as of the day of publication of this article, approximately 21 have been confirmed killed with potentially more assumed.

The statement of Naib-i-Şehinşah Hasan Çakar reads as follows:

"Firstly, in regard to death of George Floyd, this is a tragedy and an investigation must be held regarding the circumstances of his death and the perpetuating officer must be put on trial to seek justice. There are indeed many systematic issues in America regarding socio-cultural relations between classes and races, as well as the police's role in America's society. There needs to be open discussion about matter within their society.

In regard to unrest caused by the incident, Hasanistan is monitoring the situation in America closely. We advise all Hasanistani citizens residing in America to be cautious. We are also concerned about effects on coronavirus pandemic and advise that measures be put in place to mitigate effects of this which can have global repercussions."

2020 Election: Çakar promises to bring marriage laws to 21st century

The incumbent head of state and government, presidential candidate and leader of the People's Unity Party Hasan Çakar has today issued a campaign promise that he will "pass common sense marriage legislation" if elected to serve as President. He has promised to legalise males having multiple wives and unlimited amount of concubines, saying "It is unfair in modern day in the current hedonist social order that a man cannot have many beautiful virgin wives and concubines for fun, I will change that and Hasanistan will be a model for the rest of the world". He further stated "This will increase our birth rates so we have more citizens and it will also make our population happier".

Çakar's party has polled low in the most recent election polls, showing his party trailing behind the Feudalist Party and the Democratic Party of Ardajan.
